Division of Educational Services

The Educational Services Division is proud to welcome you to this year’s theme, Launching into Hyperdrive! The focus this year will be to deepen our knowledge and application of the California Common Core State Standards and 21st Century Learning.   The overarching theme for this year emphasizes PUSD’s AIR2 focus areas: academic vocabulary, informational text—reading and writing, rigor, attendance, interventions and relationships. Professional Developments days will be a professional learning opportunity for you to enhance your repertoire of instructional strategies to support all students including foster youth, socio-economically disadvantaged and English Learners.

School Focus

Keeping in line with the district’s theme, our professional learning will revolve around the strands that align to the focus areas that include literacy across content areas, instructional strategies used to implement the 4 Cs (communication, collaboration, creativity and critical thinking), instructional shifts in mathematics, strategic use of technology and digital media, culturally responsive practices, and academic/behavior intervention.
